Intrusion detection on CCTV: know the moment someone enters a restricted area

Restricted-area alerts watch the parts of your site where people should not be: a plant floor section, a cash room, a stock cage, a roof, a back lane. You mark each area on the camera view. When a person enters, Eye AI logs the entry with a snapshot and the time. It is for security heads, plant and safety managers, and facility teams who want proof of who was where, not hours of scrubbing footage.

ILLUSTRATION WITH SAMPLE DATA

The problem

Cameras record a breach, but nobody sees it until someone reviews the footage, often days later.

Rules like "no one in this area" are written on a sign and enforced by hope.

When something goes missing or goes wrong, finding the moment means watching long recordings.

How it works

  1. Choose the camera. We use an existing camera that already looks at the area.
  2. Mark the zone. You draw the restricted area on the camera view and set how sensitive it should be.
  3. Eye AI watches continuously. The analysis runs on a computer at your site. Entry into a zone is recorded as an event.
  4. Review the evidence. Each event has the time, the zone and a snapshot, and sits in a searchable history.

What you get

  • Event with snapshot and time. Every entry is a record you can show a supervisor, auditor or insurer.
  • Per-zone rules and sensitivity. Different areas can behave differently, so a busy walkway and a locked store need not share one setting.
  • Searchable history. Filter by date, hour or zone, and export to CSV through Event history and reports.

Alerts pushed to WhatsApp or email are Launching (integration is set up per site). Today you see events in the dashboard.

Where it is used

Honest limits

  • Time-of-day schedules, such as alerting only after hours, are not available yet. A zone applies at all times.
  • Delivery of alerts to phones is part of the alerts add-on, which is Launching, not live.
  • Small or distant people, dark clothing at night and people partly hidden behind objects can be missed.
  • The view matters. A zone marked where the camera sees people only as a few pixels will perform poorly. The free camera check tells you this early.
  • Eye AI reports entries into a zone. It does not judge intent or tell staff from visitors.
  • A separate motion safety net flags movement the system could not name, so a miss is not silent.

Questions about restricted-area alerts

Can I have more than one restricted zone on a camera?

Yes. You can mark several zones and set rules for each.

Will it alert me after hours only?

Not yet. Time-of-day schedules are on the roadmap and not available today.

Do I get a phone alert?

Alerts to WhatsApp and email are Launching. Today events appear in the dashboard with a snapshot.

Can it tell an employee from a stranger?

No. It reports that a person entered the zone. It does not identify people.

Does it need new cameras?

No. It uses existing network cameras that provide a video stream.
