The motion safety net: a second pair of eyes so nothing at your line is silent
Every AI misses things sometimes, especially at night or at a distance. The motion safety net is Eye AI's answer. Alongside the AI, a simple motion check watches each line. If something moves and the AI logged nothing, you see a possible miss with a snapshot. You can tell the system what it was with one click. It is for anyone who relies on counts and alerts and wants to know where the gaps are.
ILLUSTRATION WITH SAMPLE DATA
The problem
AI can miss a small, dark or distant object, and a silent miss looks exactly like a quiet night.
Most systems show you what they detected and say nothing about what they did not.
Without a way to review misses, you cannot tell whether your numbers can be trusted.
How it works
- It runs by default. The safety net watches the same lines and zones you already marked. There is no extra setup.
- Movement is compared. If something moves at a line and the AI recorded no event, Eye AI notes it.
- You see a possible miss. The dashboard shows a snapshot and the time, with a label such as "movement, unidentified".
- You teach it.Say what it was in one click, for example a motorbike or a person. Your labels help improve results on your site.
What you get
- A possible-miss panel. One place to see everything that moved but was not named.
- Teach it with one click. Label a snapshot and the system learns what your site looks like.
- Fewer silent gaps at night. When light is poor, you still see that something moved, instead of nothing.
- Honest numbers. You can judge how much to trust your counts, because the gaps are visible.
Honest limits
- It shows that something moved, not always what. That is the point: it is never silent.
- A possible miss is not a confirmed event. It may be a shadow, an insect, a swinging branch or a light change.
- It does not add anything to your counts on its own. It points you to a moment worth a look.
- It cannot see what the camera cannot see. A blocked, dark or out-of-focus view stays a weak view.
- It does not promise to catch every event. No system does.
- A person must look at the panel and label items. Unreviewed possible misses simply stay on the list.
Questions about nothing-is-silent safety net
Does this replace the AI detections?
No. It sits alongside them and catches what they did not name.
Will it flood me with false alarms?
It shows movement that went unrecorded, not every flicker. Reviewing the list is a quick job, and your labels help reduce repeats.
What does "teach it" do?
You mark what a snapshot shows. Those labels are used to improve recognition on your own site.
Does it help at night?
Yes. Night is where AI misses most, so the net shows movement the AI could not name.
Is it extra to set up?
No. It runs on the lines and zones you already mark.
